The EDGE was well planned out before the actual construction. The initial sketch shown above was made almost 1 1/2 years before construction began.

After the planning stage, a partially assembled frame was purchased and adapted to fit the EDGE design. A rough body quickly took shape after construction began.
After the first year, the interior and exterior had been roughed out and some mechanical components installed.
During assembly, every detail had to be researched and components located, modified, or (in many instances) fabricated.
Three years and one month after the purchase of the frame, the EDGE passed the Wisconsin State Patrol inspection and was issued a VIN and license.
The car has proven to be very reliable with more than 1000 miles of road testing.
Performance testing was very impressive. The EDGE has a power to weight ratio of less than eight pounds per horsepower which is better than a Dodge Viper!
After additional interior and exterior detail work, the body was finished and painted four years from the start of construction.
Almost five years after construction began, all engine modifications were completed.
The EDGE was designed to look more like a production car - not like a strange looking prototype found at auto shows.
